Injection Molding
John has held technical and leadership positions manufacturing products in medical devices, optical components and lenses, consumer goods, law enforcement/military equipment and packaging and more. He has worked on all sides of the molding business as a custom molder, captive molder, customer of molds and molded parts and any combination of all three. Holding positions ranging from mold tech/supervisor in college to Director and Manager positions has enabled John to clearly understand the points of view of all the stakeholders in the injection molding business.
John got his professional start in custom and captive injection molding, optimizing existing processes and developing processes for new molds. Later with that experience, as a customer he was able to help solve difficult molding problems at custom injection molding vendors.
John has extensive experience in injection molding plant start ups from the ground up, machine specification, installation and qualification, capacity expansion and anything in between. I’ve managed all aspects of these types of projects from capacity/output analysis and calculating capital requirements to hands on set up and leveling presses, installing automation and related auxiliary equipment including the debug/acceptance, qualification and validation of all of the above.
