Polymer Materials
Polymer Materials Evaluation Testing and Selection
After graduating with a degree in Plastics Engineering, John was immediately involved in material selection, evaluation and testing. Along with using the standard ASTM test methods, he has developed application specific testing to evaluate materials in the product geometry, qualify material at incoming inspection, in process and in finished products. John has also done testing for material identification, analysis of material degradation through compounding and extrusion processes using Differential Scanning Calorimetry, weld line strength optimization, elongation and strength and many more custom test applications. It's not just knowing the testing, but understanding how the testing is related to the application that counts.
Along with first hand experience with dozens of plastics materials (listed below), John also has a strong network of colleagues in the polymer industry that help keep him up to date on the latest materials innovations available.
